Ingredients:
- 1 package of frozen Puff Pastry
- 2-3 apples
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar (icing – optional)
- 1 tsp water or almond milk (icing – optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°. Thaw frozen puff pastry package according to the instructions.
- Core the apples with an apple corer and then peel them. Next, slice the apples into about .5 inch rings.
- Roll thawed puff pastry out and use a rolling pin to stretch the length of it.
- Gently wrap the apple rings with the puff pastry strips going through the hole of the apple ring, making sure most of the apple is wrapped tightly in the pastry strips.
- Mix the cinnamon and sugar together well. Place the apple pastries on parchment linked cookie sheets and brush the apple rings with egg whites.
- Dip or sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar generously. Next, bake them for about 25-30 minutes or until the puff pastry is nice and browned.
- Let the pastries cool and drizzle on the optional icing or enjoy as it is!
- Make sure to store these in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
Notes:
*You can use a whole egg if you’d prefer! The egg whites give these a crispier exterior.
