Themed Nights: A Highlight of the Cruise
Formal Night: Time to Dress Up!
One of the most elegant nights on the cruise is formal night, where guests dress their best for a classy evening onboard. While it’s not required to go full black-tie, many guests do take the opportunity to wear formal dresses, suits, or dressy outfits. The Disney Dream offers plenty of stunning photo ops, including professional photographers stationed around the ship, so it’s worth dressing up!
The dining rooms feel extra special on formal night, and if you’re lucky, you may even spot Mickey and the gang in their formal attire. If you want to elevate the night, consider dining at Palo or Remy, the adults-only specialty restaurants (though these require an extra fee and reservations).
Tip: If formal attire isn’t your thing, don’t worry—you won’t be out of place if you opt for something slightly more relaxed, but it’s a great excuse to dress up and make it a memorable night!
Pirate Night: Go All Out!

Disney Cruise Line takes Pirate Night seriously, and guests go all out with costumes, bandanas, and pirate gear! The entire ship transforms into a swashbuckling adventure, with themed décor, pirate music, and special activities.
The highlight? The Pirates in the Caribbean deck party, which includes a fantastic show featuring Captain Jack Sparrow and, of course, the famous fireworks at sea—a Disney Cruise exclusive!
Most guests dress up, so if you want to fully embrace the experience, pack pirate-themed outfits for the whole family. Don’t worry if you don’t bring anything—Disney provides bandanas in your stateroom to help you get into character.
Tip: The taco bar on Pirate Night is a hidden gem! It’s delicious, fresh, and a great alternative if you want a quick, flavorful meal before heading out to enjoy the festivities.
For younger kids that may be scared of fireworks loud noises I suggest bringing noise canceling headphones!!

Broadway-Style Shows: A Must-See!
One of the absolute highlights of the Disney Dream is the incredible Broadway-style entertainment. Each night, the Walt Disney Theatre hosts a spectacular live show that feels like something straight out of a Disney theme park.
Some of the must-see productions include:
• “The Golden Mickeys” – A fun, award-show-style musical celebrating Disney’s greatest films.
• “Beauty and the Beast” – A stunning adaptation of the classic movie with breathtaking sets and effects.
• “Disney’s Believe” – A heartwarming story featuring a mix of Disney characters and songs.
The production quality is top-tier, with elaborate costumes, talented performers, and even some Disney magic sprinkled in. Whether you’re a theater fan or just looking for a great way to end the night, these shows are not to be missed!
Tip: Arrive early to grab good seats, as the theater fills up quickly. Grab a popcorn bucket on your first night, they’re refillable for a minimal amount! So you get your moneys worth if you get it on the first night!!
Dining
Don’t Miss the Taco Bar!

Speaking of food, one of the best dining surprises on the Disney Dream is the taco bar. Whether you’re a taco enthusiast or just looking for a customizable, fresh meal, this station is a must-try. The toppings are plentiful, and everything is made to order—perfect for a quick bite between activities.
Beyond that, Disney Dream’s rotational dining lets you experience three different themed restaurants:
• Animator’s Palate (a fun, interactive experience featuring Disney animation)
• Enchanted Garden (a gorgeous, garden-inspired setting)
• Royal Palace (inspired by classic Disney princess films)
If you’re craving a snack in your room, room service is included, making it easy to grab a late-night treat or morning coffee without extra cost!
Packing Tips
What to Wear
• Daytime Attire: Expect to live in bathing suits and cover-ups all day, especially if you’re enjoying the pools, slides, and Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island).
• Nighttime Attire: Most nights are casual, but for formal night and Pirate Night, you’ll want special outfits.
• Sleepwear & Lounge Wear: Bring comfortable pajamas and one extra lounge outfit for relaxing in your stateroom or walking around the ship.
• Workout Gear: If you plan to hit the gym or run on the deck, don’t forget workout clothes.
Weather Considerations
• Evenings on deck can be windy, and the restaurants tend to be chilly, so bring a sweater, zip-up hoodie, or light jacket.
• If you tend to get cold easily, pack extra layers—I personally wished I had brought more! Meanwhile, my family was perfectly fine in shorts and t-shirts.

Kids’ Club: Plan for Extra Time
One of the biggest perks of a Disney Cruise is the incredible kids’ clubs, which offer fun, supervised activities for different age groups. While your little ones are enjoying games, crafts, and Disney character visits, parents can take a break and enjoy the adult-only areas of the ship.
However, pick-up and drop-off can be slow—so give yourself plenty of time! Lines can get long, especially during peak times, so plan accordingly if you have dining reservations or other scheduled activities.

Final Thoughts: Is the Disney Dream Worth It?
Depends! If you have younger kids that LOVE Disney and princesses than yes. For older kids I would recommend trying the Royal Carribean or a newer ship!
You do pay for Disney, it’s pricier than most ships and I don’t know if I would say you really get that much more. Was our vacation magical, yes. Do I think it’s worth the price tag, no. Buttttt
The Disney Dream Cruise is a fantastic experience for families, Disney fans, and anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and excitement. The themed nights, great dining, and Disney-level service make it a truly special vacation.
If you’re setting sail soon, prepare for an unforgettable trip—just don’t forget your pirate costume and an extra sweater!
