Juicy Pan-Steamed Chicken Breast

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Your favorite seasonings (I used a packet of Italian seasoning and rubbed on both sides)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Generously season both sides of your chicken breasts with your favorite spice blend. Don’t be shy—seasoning is key!
  2. Add olive to a skillet and heat over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Carefully place the chicken in the pan. Do not move it! Let it sear for 5 minutes—set a timer and resist the urge to peek.
  4. After 5 minutes, flip the chicken breasts, pour in 1 cup of water, and cover the pan with a lid.
  5. Let it cook covered for 2 minutes (or 4 minutes if your pan is thin and chicken is thicker). Then turn off the heat, but don’t lift the lid—let it sit undisturbed for 15 minutes. Set a timer and trust the process!
  6. After 15 minutes, remove the lid, let the chicken rest for a few more minutes, then slice, shred, or serve whole. Perfectly juicy every time!
