Fourth of July is just around the corner, which means lots of celebrations are coming up! This M&M’s Cookie Bars would be the perfect treat to bring to any Fourth of July party! I mean, what’s not to love about cookie dough, chocolate chips, and M&M’s?! This dessert is loved by many, and it’s so quick and easy to make. It’s honestly easier than cookies! This recipe should make around 18 to 36 bars, depending on how you cut them. Original recipe from No. 2 Pencil.

Ingredients:
- 2 room temperature sticks of butter
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of firmly packed golden brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 1/2 of Red, White, and Blue M&M’s, plus more for topping
- 1 cup of mini chocolate chips, plus more for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a 9×13 aluminum baking dish with foil.
- Spray foil generously with nonstick cooking spray.
- Next, in the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until fluffy.
- Add in eggs, and vanilla extract and continue to beat.
- Lower the speed of the mixer, and add flour, baking soda and salt, and mix until combined.
- Add in M&M’s and chocolate chips and give it a final stir. Make sure to reserve some M&M’s and chocolate chips for topping the bars.
- Transfer the cookie dough to prepared baking dish and press in the additional M&M’s and chocolate chips into the top of the cookie dough.
- Bake 30-35 minutes.
- Let cool completely and cut.
Notes:
*When lining your baking dish with foil, leave some overhang to make removal easier!
